Museveni Pledges Shs2 Billion to Support Pastors’ SACCO at Big Fix Conference

KAMPALA, UGANDA — President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has pledged Shs2 billion to support a Savings and Credit Cooperative Organisation (SACCO) formed by pastors, as he joined thousands of believers at the ongoing Big Fix Holy Spirit Global Conference at Miracle Centre Cathedral in Rubaga, Kampala.
The seven-day conference, hosted by Pastors Robert Kayanja and Jessica Kayanja, is running from September 21 to 27, 2026, bringing together Christians, church leaders and international delegates from Uganda, across Africa and beyond.
During his engagement at the conference, President Museveni commended the Kayanjas for establishing an international network that brings together people from different countries to exchange ideas, build relationships and encourage one another.
The President also praised Pastor Robert Kayanja for expanding his ministry beyond preaching to include initiatives aimed at production, wealth creation and community empowerment.
He particularly highlighted Kayanja’s agricultural initiatives in Karamoja and Kiryandongo, describing such efforts as important in encouraging communities to engage in productive economic activities.
Museveni further welcomed discussions at the conference around African and East African integration, saying deeper integration and a wider African market are important for producers seeking opportunities to sell their goods and services.
The President said a more integrated African market can help create opportunities for producers while contributing to broader economic transformation and improved livelihoods.
He also welcomed the establishment of the pastors’ SACCO, saying collective financial initiatives can encourage members to work together, invest and build sustainable sources of wealth.
Museveni pledged Shs2 billion toward the initiative, emphasising the importance of supporting organised efforts that promote saving, production and wealth creation.
The conference has also served as a platform for discussions extending beyond spiritual matters to issues of economic and social development. An international partners’ meeting held earlier during the conference brought together representatives from Africa, Europe, Asia and North America to discuss strategies for spiritual, physical and economic development.
The Big Fix Holy Spirit Global Conference, themed around spiritual restoration, wisdom and transformation, has attracted prominent international ministers including Pastor Benny Hinn, Dr Kenneth Copeland and Dr Paul Enenche.
President Museveni’s participation adds a national development dimension to a gathering that has combined Christian teaching and worship with conversations about production, economic empowerment, African cooperation and community development.
